Secriss Pure Nature Mask ~ Olive *Review*

Is it really Thursday? This lockdown is starting to mess with me and all the day’s are beginning to merge into one. It seems that it’s only kids tv (CBeebies) telling me every morning that’s keeping me on track.

Sheet mask number 4 is a from a brand I haven’t heard of before and also uses an ingredient I haven’t used on my skin before as well. Olive fruit extract. My first thoughts, before using this ingredient, is greasy and difficult to absorb. I was interested to see how it would perform on the skin.

This mask is advertised as using a highly concentrated undiluted ampoule. This ampoule is thick, and the mask is soaked in it. I actually found it difficult to open up the sheet mask due to how much there was, and very little remained in the package. The mask itself wasn’t a bad fit and felt comfortable on the face. The instructions recommend it be left on for 15-20 minutes and I left this on for only 10 minutes.

When I opened the package, I realised this product had a very strong scent. I couldn’t pin point what it smelt like, but it was almost floral. I noticed at the bottom of the ingredient list was fragrance. This is something I can sometimes have a reaction to. The scent remained strong through the whole process and this is why I only left the mask on for 10 minutes. In that short space of time I developed a headache to the scent, and could feel my eyes start to become irritated. I no longer wanted to continue using the product.

After Mask

Once removed the ampoule was thick on the skin and didn’t feel like it was going to absorb well into the skin. I used my current moisturiser in one small section of my face (patch by my jawline) to test how it would sit on top of my skin. & that is what it did. It sat on my skin and wouldn’t absorb, when attempting to rub it in, I could see the product just move from one area to the next with out absorbing.

To be transparent, I washed this product off. I wouldn’t be able to know if the claims of moisturising and brightening due to this, but I couldn’t carry on using this product. I will not be repurchasing again.
